Alan Prasanth Sam

I'm a mechanical engineering graduate looking for a trainee role in precision and heavy engineering manufacturing. Most of my work is part and assembly modelling, mechanism design, and drawings for manufacture. I'm based in Mumbai and available immediately.

For my final year project I led the mechanical design of a quadcopter that changes shape to fly and to operate underwater. That covered a backdrive-resistant cycloidal reduction drive for the morphing arms, rotary shaft sealing at every actuated joint, bearing selection, integrating the electronics, and building the printed prototype with the team.

I did my industrial training at Moonstar India, a transformer manufacturing unit in Kerala, working across core assembly, coil winding, insulation, TIG weld inspection and electrical testing, and writing up production documentation. Supplier visits covered injection moulding of the moulded parts. It was the first time I saw what a drawing decision costs on the shop floor.

Before that I worked part-time at the same unit through school vacations and weekends from 2020 to 2022, across the stations of a 24 V 40 VA transformer line.

Since then I've spent time on CNC programming and machining at Archon Engineers in Kochi, and on the caliper manufacturing line at Brakes India in Polambakkam — automotive braking component production, line processes and quality checks.

I use SolidWorks, Fusion 360 and AutoCAD. I'm looking for a mechanical engineering trainee role, and I'm open to relocating.
